Concealed weapon found during sidewalk stop

Sarnia Police Service officials allege: A 37-year-old man from Brock Street is facing weapons-related charges after police found a concealed knife during an arrest.

On July 23 at 2:30 p.m., an officer stopped a man riding a bicycle on the sidewalk near Brock Street South and Davis Street, knowing he was wanted on outstanding warrants.

During the arrest, the officer discovered an open-blade knife hidden in the bicycle seat. The man did not declare the weapon and was bound by a judicial release order prohibiting weapon possession. He was held for bail.
