Chatham fire causes up to $600K in damage

Chatham-Kent fire crews responded to a structure fire Tuesday night that caused significant damage to two residential homes on Gray Street.

Firefighters from Stations 1 and 2 in Chatham were called to 87 Gray Street around 10:15 p.m. and arrived to find both homes actively on fire. Crews quickly worked to contain and extinguish the blaze, preventing it from spreading to nearby properties.

No injuries were reported. Damage is estimated between $500,000 and $600,000.

The Ontario Fire Marshal has been notified. Chatham-Kent fire inspectors and police remain on scene as the investigation continues.
