Chatham-Kent’s Transitional Cabin Project, officially named Pathways on Park, is set to become fully operational on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, Municipal officials said on social media.
“This new transitional housing site marks a major step forward in addressing homelessness in our community,” Municipal officials added.
“Pathways on Park will offer individuals experiencing homelessness safety, stability, and support with an end goal of improving lives and moving residents forward towards permanent housing.”
The site of the project is at Park Street and Hyslop Street and includes 50 individual cabins, approx. 100 sq ft each.
There is 24/7 on-site security and staff trained in trauma-informed care
Municipal officials say the site was chosen for proximity to services and distance from schools/daycares.
Different support and services, include: 24/7 case management from Housing Services; life skills, mental health, and addiction support; and participants pay a small program fee based on income supports
“Each cabin includes a bed, fridge, microwave, and climate control,” Municipal officials say, adding there are shared amenities, including a kitchen, bathrooms, and community room, and pets are welcome, under the Municipal pet policy.
Individuals experiencing homelessness are eligible, and they must agree to a goal-based support plan.
If people are in need of support they can call the CK Homelessness Response Line at 519-354-6628 and for general inquiries, people can call 311.
