Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On August 10, 2025, at approximately 6:13 p.m. the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a call involving a suspected firearm in Wallaceburg.
As precaution, officers utilized specialized equipment and established containment in the area of Murray Street, King Street and Wallace Street.
The deployment of officers with firearms was in accordance with the Ontario Use of Force model and the Service’s policies for ensuring public and officer safety.
There was no active threat to public safety during this incident and the situation was brought under control without injury.
Police presence in the area was precautionary in nature.
