Two arrested for bail violations in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Chatham-Kent police say two people were arrested after being found in violation of court conditions at a retail store on Richmond Street in Chatham.

Police say officers located the pair around 10:36 a.m. on Aug. 28. Both were arrested and taken to police headquarters.

A 32-year-old man was released by the court with conditions and a future court date of Sept. 11. He faces charges of theft, possession of stolen property and failing to comply with a probation order.

A 32-year-old Chatham-Kent woman was remanded into custody and transported to the Southwest Regional Detention Center.

She faces nine counts each of theft and possession of stolen property, along with charges of obstructing a peace officer, failing to attend court, failing to comply with a release order and failing to comply with an undertaking. Her next court appearance is scheduled for Sept. 4 by video.
