Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A Wallaceburg man and woman were arrested Wednesday morning after police say they gave false names and were found together in violation of a probation order.
Around 10 a.m., officers checked on a woman reported sleeping in the back lot of a Richmond Street business near West Street. Police said the woman and a man with her initially misidentified themselves, but investigators later confirmed their identities. The man was bound by a probation order prohibiting contact with the woman.
A 39-year-old Wallaceburg man was charged with obstructing a peace officer and failing to comply with a probation order. A 45-year-old Wallaceburg woman was charged with obstructing a peace officer and facilitating the breach. The man was held for a bail hearing, while the woman was released with conditions and is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 8.
