The Blenheim Medical Health Foundation will officially open its new Health Hub on Thursday with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 2 p.m., followed by public celebrations later in the day.
The foundation first announced the project in November 2023, aiming to create a larger, modern facility that would attract family physicians and bring together referral-based services under one roof. Less than two years later, the $4.5-million renovation at 2 Hyland Drive is complete and two new doctors have already been recruited.
The Health Hub will house the Chatham-Kent Family Health Team, the Blenheim Health Hub Pharmacy, Health Hub Dental, Circle Health and the Chatham-Kent Mental Health & Trauma Therapy Centre. About 5,000 square feet of space remains available for lease, with discussions underway to bring diagnostic imaging and laboratory services to the site.
The project has been funded entirely through local donations, with no municipal, provincial or federal support.
After the ribbon cutting, the community is invited to celebrate from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. with live music, family activities, food vendors and tours of the new facility.
