Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 53-year-old Chatham man is facing charges after police responded to a domestic disturbance in the city early Tuesday morning.
Chatham-Kent police said officers were called shortly after 7 a.m. on September 16 and found two people involved in a physical altercation.
Through investigation, police allege the man choked a woman by the neck and forced her to the ground. The victim had visible injuries but declined further assistance.
The man was charged with assault causing bodily harm and taken to Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters, where he remains in custody awaiting bail.
