Road rage incident leads to assault charge in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 32-year-old Chatham man has been charged following a road rage incident that led to a physical altercation Wednesday morning.

Chatham-Kent police said two vehicles sideswiped each other on St. Clair Street around 8:45 a.m. on September 17. Both drivers then pulled off the road, where an argument escalated into a fight.

Police allege the 32-year-old assaulted a 63-year-old man, who sustained minor injuries but did not require medical treatment.

The accused was charged with assault and later released from custody with a court date set for October 21, 2025.
