Sarnia Police Service officials allege: Police have arrested a man after security cameras captured someone attempting to break into a garage and vehicle on McGill Gate in the early morning hours of Sept. 14.
The suspect, wearing a hoodie and backpack, fled the scene but was located shortly afterward walking on Esser Crescent toward Errol Road, police said. Officers confirmed his identity and discovered he was subject to a probation order.
Further investigation revealed that a neighbouring vehicle on McGill Gate had also been entered.
The accused was arrested and later released on conditions following a bail hearing. Police ask anyone with further information to contact them or submit tips anonymously to Crime Stoppers.
