Police shut down illegal cannabis dispensary in London

OPP officials allege: An illegal cannabis dispensary that reopened after a previous closure has once again been shut down by police in London.

Ontario Provincial Police say the storefront, operating under the name Chief’s Corner, was first closed in August 2025 under an interim closure order issued through the Cannabis Control Act.

On Sept. 12, police were alerted the dispensary had resumed operations. Members of the OPP-led Provincial Joint Forces Cannabis Enforcement Team and London Police Service executed enforcement action, seizing an estimated $33,000 in illegal cannabis products.

A person has been charged with possession of illicit cannabis under the Cannabis Act. The accused was released and is scheduled to appear in court in London on Oct. 24.

Police say unauthorized entry into a building under an interim closure order may result in charges of breaking and entering.

Authorities are reminding the public that cannabis can only be legally purchased through the Ontario Cannabis Store or licensed retailers.

Anyone with information on the illegal sale of cannabis is asked to contact OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477 or ontariocrimestoppers.ca.
