Sarnia Police Service officials allege: A 29-year-old man has been charged following a two-vehicle collision Sunday afternoon that caused damage to a hydro pole and a telephone box at the intersection of George Street and Russell Street.
Police say officers were called to the scene around 2:35 p.m. on Oct. 5. When they arrived, they found two vehicles with visible damage, one of which had come to rest against a hydro pole on the southwest corner of the intersection. The pole and a nearby Bell telephone box also sustained damage.
Lambton EMS assessed the occupants of both vehicles at the scene. Minor injuries were reported, and no one required hospital treatment. The intersection remained closed for three to four hours while cleanup and repairs were completed.
Following an investigation, the driver was charged with careless driving under the Highway Traffic Act.
