Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 35-year-old Chatham man is facing multiple charges after police say he violated several court-ordered conditions early Wednesday morning.
At approximately 2:43 a.m. on Oct. 8, Chatham-Kent police were called to a domestic-related incident at a residence in Chatham. Officers found the man inside, despite existing non-communication and no-contact conditions prohibiting him from being near specific individuals or locations.
Police say the man had been repeatedly attending the residence, in violation of his probation and undertaking conditions. During the arrest, officers also located a weapon, contrary to his court-imposed weapons prohibition.
The man was charged with unlawfully in a dwelling, three counts of failing to comply with a probation order, and two counts of failing to comply with an undertaking. He was taken to Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters and held for a bail hearing.
