CKHA promotes early breast cancer screening during awareness month

As Breast Cancer Awareness Month continues, the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) is urging eligible residents to take advantage of updated screening options that make early detection easier than ever.

October’s campaign emphasizes the importance of regular breast cancer screening as one of the most effective ways to improve outcomes and save lives.

Individuals aged 40 to 74 can now self-refer online to any of the 12 Ontario Breast Screening Program sites in the Erie St. Clair region, including CKHA. Appointments can also be booked by calling 519-437-6089, with the booking line monitored Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Wednesday from 8 a.m. to noon.

CKHA staff are showing their support through initiatives such as “Wednesdays, We Wear Pink!”, organized by the Erie St. Clair Regional Cancer Program. Diagnostic Imaging staff recently took part to help raise awareness about breast health.
