Fire crews were called to a structure fire early Saturday morning on Walpole Island.
The Walpole Island Fire Department responded around 2:30 a.m. to reports of a building on fire. When firefighters arrived, the structure was already fully engulfed and appeared to have been burning for some time.
A downed hydro line across the front of the property created a safety hazard, delaying firefighting efforts until Hydro One arrived to secure the scene. Once it was safe to proceed, crews quickly brought the fire under control.
No injuries were reported. All trucks have since returned to the station and are back in service.
