Mrs. Yvonne Carroll of Chatham, formerly of Port Lambton, passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at the age of 86.
Yvonne was born in Dover Township and was a daughter of the late Joseph and Ovaline (Emery) Demers.
Beloved wife of the late Gordon Carroll (2015).
Loving mother of Debra Walton of Chatham, Mike Carroll of Wallaceburg and Kevin Carroll of Petrolia.
Sadly missed by her grandchildren Donni(Jay), Shelley, Clinton, Randi and great grandchildren Brendan, Madeleine, Parker and Nate as well many nieces and nephews.
Kind sister of Rosemarie (the late Norm) Charron, she is predeceased by her brother Joseph and sister Jean.
In her younger years, Yvonne waitressed and sang at the Seaburg Hotel. She then moved on to work many years at the Dominion Glass Co. until she retired in 1994.
She enjoyed activitieS such as bowling, euchre, playing songs on her organ, dancing and most of all spending time with her family.
To describe Yvonne with a single word it would be “colourful”. Her quick-wit and sense of humour kept everyone on their toes as you never knew what she would say next.
Family gatherings on holidays weren’t any different as no one knew what dinner was going to be or what creative side dish she would have.
Yvonne’s spirit will definitely live on in the memories of those left behind and she will be greatly missed.
A HUGE thank you to the staff of Copper Terrace in Chatham for making her last days as comfortable as possible. Your compassion and care for her and the family was over the top and very much appreciated!
The late Yvonne Carroll rested at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg.
Following her wishes, cremation has taken place, and a private family interment will take place in Riverview Cemetery, at a later date.
As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Salvation Army, CK Animal Rescue or PAWR Animal Rescue may be left at the funeral home.
