Tennis and pickleball players in Chatham-Kent have a new place to play with the opening of the Chatham-Kent Racquet Centre at 23508 Bear Line Road.
The new facility was made possible through a $200,000 grant from Tennis Canada and Rogers. It is now operated by Tennis Clubs of Canada and offers residents a year-round space for both tennis and pickleball.
Mayor Darrin Canniff said the centre provides a great way for people of all ages to stay active and engaged in the community.
The new racquet dome marks the first phase of a larger park development that will also include walking paths, sports fields, a playground and additional amenities.
