Woman arrested in Chatham on multiple warrants and new probation violation

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 36-year-old Chatham woman was arrested on October 14 after police responded to a report of a probation breach at a residence in Chatham.

Around 2:45 p.m., officers attended the address and found the woman in violation of a court order prohibiting her from being within 50 metres of a specified residence. She was arrested and charged with failing to comply with a probation order.

Police say the woman was also wanted on two outstanding warrants. One was issued after she failed to attend court in July on charges of assaulting two peace officers and failing to appear in court. Another warrant was issued in August when she failed to provide a court-ordered DNA sample.

She was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where she was held for bail.
