Chatham man charged with impaired driving after crash

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 29-year-old Chatham man is facing impaired driving charges after a single-vehicle collision late Tuesday night.

Police said officers were called to Forest Street around 11:26 p.m. on Oct. 15, where a vehicle had struck a parked car, lost control, and overturned. The driver fled the scene on foot but was later identified by police.

The man was arrested and charged with operation while impaired by alcohol and failure to remain. After failing further testing at police headquarters, he was additionally charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration over 80 milligrams.

He was released with a court date set for Nov. 5, 2025.
