Four arrested following break and enter in Ridgetown

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Four people have been arrested in connection with a break and enter at a commercial business on Main Street West in Ridgetown last month.

Police say that on September 11, 2025, around 5:27 a.m., officers responded to reports that a pickup truck had reversed into the storefront, causing an estimated $60,000 in damage. Two suspects were seen entering the business and taking about $10,000 worth of merchandise before fleeing the scene.

At 6:50 a.m., officers located the suspect vehicle and, through further investigation, were led to a nearby residence in Chatham. Later that evening, at 7:50 p.m., members of the Emergency Response Team and Intelligence Unit executed a search warrant at the home, seizing several items connected to the incident.

A 50-year-old Chatham man was arrested and found to be in possession of methamphetamine. A 41-year-old Windsor man, a 42-year-old Leamington man, and a 43-year-old Chatham woman were later identified and arrested in relation to the break and enter.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said it “remains committed to protecting local businesses” and encourages residents to report suspicious activity to help keep the community safe.
