This photo was posted to the Dresden Virtual History Group by Randa Jinkerson Doskas, who was asking for information about the location.
Some group members provided some commentary about the spot:
“It was in the converted Texico gas station I think about where the Mobile is now. You could go there for hot dogs. It was across from Houston gas station. It was operated by Ray (Hope) Johnston. He was quite the adventurous guy. Was a pilot. Went out west and started up a few towns.” – Elaine Unsworth
“Yes I remember both locations. The First one was in the little shoe repair shop and it moved over to the old Texaco Gas station. The membership card cost 1.00 I believe. I remember Ray “ Hope “ Johnson was involved with the Red Dog and Ethel his partner cooked the best Hamburgers and Hot Dogs.” – Linda Dill
