Two drivers charged with stunt driving in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Two drivers are facing charges after police say they were observed racing through a parking lot and speeding in a school zone early Sunday morning.

Around 4:15 a.m. on October 26, 2025, Chatham-Kent police officers saw two vehicles travelling at high speed in a parking lot on Grand Avenue West. Officers followed as the vehicles exited the area and conducted a traffic stop after both were observed exceeding the speed limit in a school zone.

A 39-year-old Wallaceburg woman and a 33-year-old Ridgetown man were each charged with drive motor vehicle – perform stunt (excessive speed). Both vehicles were impounded for 14 days, and the drivers were released on a Part III summons with a future court date.
