OPP seize drugs and weapons during Lakeshore search

OPP officials allege: A Lakeshore resident has been charged following a drug trafficking investigation led by the Essex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit.

On October 30 around 4:40 a.m., officers from the Essex County OPP Community Street Crime Unit, with assistance from the Lambton CSCU, West Region OPP Emergency Response Team, Tactics and Rescue Unit, and both OPP and RCMP canine units, executed search warrants at residences in Stoney Point and St. Joachim, as well as two vehicles.

Police said the search led to the seizure of suspected cocaine, methamphetamine, amphetamine, fentanyl, Canadian currency, and drug-related paraphernalia. Officers also seized knives, a conductive energy weapon and pepper spray. The estimated value of the seized items was more than $12,000.

A Lakeshore resident has been charged with multiple counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and knowledge of unauthorized possession of a weapon. The individual was held in custody and was scheduled to appear for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor.
