Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege:Chatham-Kent police arrested a 50-year-old Highgate man on Lorne Avenue Friday after confirming he was wanted on an outstanding warrant connected to a theft investigation.
Police said the man was identified as the suspect in a Nov. 6 shoplifting incident at a business on Wellington Street West, where merchandise was taken without payment.
He was arrested shortly after 11:20 a.m. Friday and taken to police headquarters. He was later released with a court date set for Dec. 2.
