Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the region, warning of hazardous travel conditions as a winter system moves in Saturday night.
The agency says total snowfall amounts near 10 centimetres are expected, with the potential to reach 15 centimetres depending on how the system develops. Snow is forecast to begin tonight and taper off Sunday afternoon.
Overnight and into early Sunday, the snow may mix with or change to rain. Environment Canada says there is still considerable uncertainty about whether that transition will occur. If precipitation remains as snow, accumulations could approach 15 centimetres.
Residents are urged to monitor weather alerts and forecasts. Severe weather reports can be sent to ONstorm@ec.gc.ca
or shared on X using #ONStorm.
