Cyclist seriously injured after crashing into parked car

Sarnia Police Service officials allege: On Thursday, November 27, 2025, at approximately 11:45 a.m., Sarnia Police officers and other emergency services responded to Margaret Street following a collision involving a cyclist and a parked vehicle.

Upon arrival, EMS personnel were treating a 54-year-old female who had sustained significant injuries.

Police obtained surveillance footage showing the cyclist travelling southbound on Margaret Street.

She was the only moving vehicle on the roadway at the time.

The video appears to show the cyclist looking downward, with her hood possibly obstructing her vision, before riding directly into the rear of a legally parked SUV.

Emergency first aid was provided at the scene, and the cyclist was transported to the hospital in Sarnia before being transferred to London for further treatment.

She remains in critical but stable condition.

Her name is not being disclosed at this time.

At this time, the investigation indicates no criminal wrongdoing.

The vehicle involved was unoccupied, parked legally, and no charges are expected.
