Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 37-year-old Chatham-Kent man is being held for bail after police located him Tuesday during a family dispute investigation.
The warrant stems from an incident on April 4, 2025, when officers responded just after 1 a.m. to a report of a suspicious person damaging a home and attempting to get into vehicles on Pine Street in Chatham. Police say the man admitted to causing the damage because he believed someone inside the home was in danger. Officers searched the residence and confirmed no one was at risk.
The man was charged with mischief under $5,000 and released with conditions and a court date. Police say he later failed to attend court multiple times and did not comply with his probation order. He was arrested again on October 21, 2025, and released with a court date of November 24, 2025, which he also missed.
On December 9, 2025, officers again located the man and arrested him on the outstanding warrant. He was taken to Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters and is being held for bail.
