Woman arrested in Wallaceburg on outstanding warrant related to theft case

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Chatham-Kent police arrested a woman in Wallaceburg on Dec. 15 in connection with an outstanding warrant stemming from a previous theft investigation.

Police were initially called on July 3, 2025, to a report of a stolen bicycle on Cellular Street in Chatham. Investigators determined that a 41-year-old woman from Chatham-Kent had taken the bicycle and left the area. Officers later located the woman and returned the bicycle to its owner.

The woman was charged with theft under $5,000 and given a court date, which police say she failed to attend on several occasions. As a result, a warrant was issued for her arrest.

At about 2:32 p.m. on Dec. 15, officers located and arrested her in Wallaceburg on the strength of the outstanding warrant for failing to attend court. She was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters and is currently being held for bail.
