OPP officials allege: An individual from Thamesville is facing impaired driving-related charges following a traffic stop in Dawn-Euphemia.
On Dec. 17, 2025, at about 5:40 p.m., members of the Lambton County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police conducted a traffic stop on Huffs Corners Road, south of Lambton Line. As a result of the investigation, a 30-year-old Thamesville resident was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code and the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act with operation while impaired by alcohol and drugs, operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit, and operating a motor vehicle without insurance.
A 90-day administrative driver’s licence suspension was imposed, along with a seven-day vehicle impoundment, as required by statute. The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sarnia on Feb. 9, 2026.
Police are reminding members of the public to report impaired driving by calling 911 in emergency situations. Complaints of impaired, aggressive or careless driving can also be reported by calling 1-888-310-1122.
