Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A Chatham man is facing a mischief charge after police responded to a disturbance at a local business.
Police say officers were called early Dec. 18 to a business on Grand Avenue West, where damage had been caused to a window, leaving the premises insecure. Investigators determined a man had been yelling, damaging property and making threats toward the public.
A 27-year-old man from Chatham was located nearby and admitted to causing the damage, police say. He was arrested and charged with mischief under $5,000, then released with conditions and a scheduled court date of Jan. 20, 2026.
