Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A Chatham-Kent man is facing charges following a reported theft at a retail store in Chatham.
Chatham-Kent police say officers responded to the store on St. Clair Street on the evening of Dec. 18 after a man allegedly selected several items with the intent to steal. A loss prevention officer, along with police, intervened at the scene.
A 33-year-old man from Chatham-Kent was charged with theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000. He was transported to police headquarters and later released with conditions and a future court date of Jan. 20, 2026.
