Police investigating disturbance in Point Edward

OPP officials allege: Ontario Provincial Police are investigating a disturbance in the Village of Point Edward that resulted in charges.

According to Lambton County OPP, officers responded shortly before 10 a.m. on Dec. 17, 2025, to a reported disturbance involving two individuals at the waterfront near Fort Street in Point Edward. Police say one individual sustained minor injuries as a result of the incident.

Following an investigation, a 61-year-old resident of Sarnia was charged under the Criminal Code with assault with a weapon, assault and mischief.

The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sarnia on Jan. 26, 2026.
