OPP officials allege: A traffic complaint from a member of the public led to an impaired driving arrest in St. Clair Township on Christmas Day.
Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police say officers received a report of a possible impaired driver at about 7 p.m. on Dec. 25, 2025. Police later located the vehicle on Highway 40 near Churchill Line and initiated a traffic stop.
Following an investigation, a 24-year-old man from Sarnia was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with operation while impaired by alcohol and drugs.
Police say a 90-day administrative driver’s licence suspension was issued, along with a seven-day vehicle impoundment, as required by statute.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sarnia on Feb. 9, 2026.
Lambton OPP thanked the member of the public who reported the traffic complaint, noting that public vigilance plays an important role in keeping roads safe. Anyone who suspects an impaired driver is encouraged to contact police at 1-888-310-1122.
