David Grimard

David John Grimard, 54, passed away on January 5, 2026, after a brief illness. Born on October 13, 1971, David lived a life rooted in love, loyalty, music, and family.

David was funny, charismatic, and a man of action who carried the world in his footsteps. He loved deeply and gave generously, always showing up for the people he cared about. Though rough around the edges, David was a constant presence — steady, comforting, and protective. His love made people feel safe, and his family always knew he was there.

David met his first wife, Janice, in 1993, and together they built a family that would forever shape his heart. They welcomed their son Alex, born in Kingston, Ontario; their daughter Martina, born in Lethbridge, Alberta; and their son Beck, in Edmonton, Alberta. David carried immense pride in his children and loved them with a steady, enduring devotion.

In 2005, David met Stacey Erica Genereaux in Lethbridge Alberta, and with her, his family grew again. Together they raised five children who brought him immeasurable joy: Echoe, Derek, Maximus, Myles, and Justice. David’s love for his children was fierce and unconditional — he protected them, celebrated them, and found his greatest purpose in being their dad.

Music was David’s sanctuary. He loved to sing and play guitar, finding peace and expression through music. He won singing competitions and shared his gift freely, often using song to connect with others. He was a hard-headed softy — strong in spirit, tender at heart, and full of love.

David adored dogs, especially Daisy and Lily. He loved cooking for the people he cared about, filling his home with warmth, laughter, and the comfort of shared meals. Holidays were sacred to him, and he gave everything he had to make those moments meaningful. He carried his mother, Ellenor Barriage, close in his heart and spoke of her with deep love.

David is survived by his children — Alex, Martina, Beck, Echoe, Derek, Maximus, Myles, and Justice — his wife, Stacey Erica Genereaux; his first wife Janice Logan, his sister Donna, his numerous nieces and nephews and all those whose lives were touched by his love, laughter, and music. David had a very special bond with his mother Ellie and has missed her dearly. We take comfort in knowing they are together now. He is also predeceased by his father Donald Grimard and his brother Donald Jr.

David’s legacy is one of devotion, generosity, and presence. His love remains a source of comfort and strength, and his music will forever echo in the hearts of those who loved him.

Rest in peace, Dad.
We’ll love you forever, and ever. Amen.
