Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 54-year-old Chatham woman has been arrested on an outstanding warrant in connection with a credit card fraud investigation.
Police say the investigation began on June 13, 2025, after the Lakeshore Ontario Provincial Police reported stolen credit cards being used within Chatham-Kent. Surveillance footage and further investigation identified the accused as attending a gas station in Tilbury, where several unauthorized purchases were made using a stolen credit card.
She was charged with fraud under $5,000, use of a stolen credit card and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000. The woman was arrested on July 17, 2025, and released with conditions and a court date of Aug. 25, 2025, which she failed to attend. A bench warrant was subsequently issued.
On Jan. 7, 2026, at approximately 2:27 a.m., Chatham-Kent police located the accused during a traffic stop on Grand Avenue East. She was arrested on the outstanding warrant and transported to police headquarters, where she is currently being held for bail.
