Plein Air Artists of Chatham-Kent launch first annual show and sale in Wallaceburg

The Plein Air Artists of Chatham-Kent are inviting the public to experience the region’s landscapes through their first annual Show and Sale, running from January 6 to January 29, 2026, at the Wallaceburg & District Museum.

The exhibition showcases works created outdoors and directly from life by local artists, capturing Chatham-Kent’s landscapes across different seasons. Organizers say the show celebrates creativity, community and a strong connection to place, offering a vibrant look at familiar scenes through a range of artistic styles rooted in the plein air tradition.

A Meet the Artist’s Reception will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2026, from 6 to 8 p.m., giving visitors an opportunity to meet participating artists and learn more about their process and inspiration.

The Plein Air Artists of Chatham-Kent say the exhibition is intended to encourage appreciation for local artists and cultural events, while highlighting the natural beauty of the region through art created in the open air.
