It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Audrey Louise Johnston (née Baverstock) at the age of 69.
She passed away peacefully on Monday January 12, 2026 at University Hospital surrounded by her family. Audrey was born in Chatham and lived her entire life in Bothwell. Daughter of the late Aylmer and Mae (née Stocking) Baverstock. She will be deeply missed by her family. Beloved wife of James (Randy) Johnston for the past 46 years and cherished mother of Amanda Johnston. Dear sister and sister-in-law to Shirley (Don) Robinson, Melvin (late Marilyn) Baverstock, the late Delbert (Thelma) Baverstock, the late Lorraine (late Glen) Huctwith, and the late Gary (late Doris) Baverstock. Sister-in-law to Wayne (late Nancy) Johnston, Chris (late Gerry) Gardner, and Cindy (Jerry) VanGoethem.
She will also be missed by many nieces and nephews. Audrey enjoyed several years running a daycare from her home and before her retirement, several years working at the Wardsville Golf Course. She was an active member of the Bothwell Baptist Church and the Optimist Club of Bothwell. In her free time she loved playing card games with friends and watching the Blue Jays play ball. Those wishing to make a donation may consider Four Counties Hospital or a charity of your choice. Cremation has already taken place. The family will receive friends Friday January 30th from 7:00 – 9:00 pm at the Bothwell Baptist Church, 280 Peter Street N. A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday January 31st at 11 am at the Bothwell Baptist Church with a luncheon following. Interment at the Bothwell Cemetery will take place with family at a later date.
