Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A Chatham youth has turned himself in to police in connection with an outstanding warrant stemming from a 2025 assault investigation.
Chatham-Kent police say officers originally responded on March 7, 2025, at about 12:23 a.m., to a report of a female who said she had been bear maced in the area of Queen Street and William Street. The investigation identified three youth suspects, including two males and one female, all of whom were arrested and charged at the time.
Police say one of the male youths was already bound by court conditions prohibiting him from possessing weapons as a result of a previous arrest, leading to an additional charge. He was later released with conditions and court dates but failed to attend a scheduled appearance, prompting a warrant to be issued.
On Jan. 14, 2026, the youth turned himself in to police. He was released on a Form 9 with a future court date scheduled for Feb. 18, 2026.
The 16-year-old Chatham youth faces charges of assault with a weapon, administering a noxious thing and failure to comply with an undertaking.
