Traffic stop leads to suspended driving charge in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A Chatham man was charged with driving while under suspension following a traffic stop in the city Monday morning.

Chatham-Kent police say officers conducted a traffic stop on Grand Avenue West on Jan. 26, 2026, at about 9:45 a.m., after an automatic licence plate recognition system indicated the registered owner of the vehicle was suspended from driving.

As a result of the investigation, a 39-year-old man from Chatham was issued a Part III summons for driving while under suspension. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
