Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A Wallaceburg woman has been arrested following a domestic-related theft investigation in the community.
Chatham-Kent police say officers initially responded on Jan. 28 to a reported theft stemming from a domestic dispute at a residence in Wallaceburg. The investigation determined a verbal altercation occurred between a 40-year-old woman and a 56-year-old man, both from Wallaceburg, during which property belonging to the man was taken before the woman left the residence.
A warrant was issued for the woman’s arrest in connection with a theft under $5,000 charge. Police later located her on Lafontaine Street in Wallaceburg at about 5:18 p.m. on Jan. 29, allegedly in possession of the stolen property. She was arrested on the outstanding warrant and additionally charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
The accused was transported to Chatham-Kent police headquarters and released with conditions. She is scheduled to appear in court on March 4, 2026.
