Dresden man charged with impaired driving after single-vehicle crash

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A Dresden man is facing impaired driving charges following a single-vehicle collision in the Tupperville area.

Police say officers responded to an automatic crash alert on Glasgow Line at about 5:18 p.m. on Jan. 29. At the scene, officers found a truck that had left the roadway, struck a tree and come to rest roughly 10 feet down an embankment near a river.

The lone driver, a 29-year-old man from Dresden, was located nearby and assessed by paramedics, who he declined further medical treatment from. Officers observed signs of impairment and arrested the man. He was transported to police headquarters for breath testing, where two samples were allegedly provided over the legal limit.

The man was charged with operation while impaired by alcohol and drugs and operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration over 80. He was later released with conditions and a court date scheduled for Feb. 18, 2026.
