Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 29-year-old Chatham man is being held for bail after surrendering to police on an outstanding assault warrant.
Chatham-Kent police say the original incident occurred on Sept. 2, 2022, when officers responded to a domestic-related call at a Chatham residence. Investigators allege the accused attended the residence uninvited and physically assaulted a 22-year-old woman before fleeing the scene.
A charge of assault was laid and a warrant was issued for the man’s arrest. Police say he was arrested in December 2024 and later released with conditions, but failed to attend a scheduled court date, resulting in the warrant being endorsed.
On Feb. 2, 2026, the accused surrendered himself at Chatham-Kent police headquarters. He was arrested on the outstanding warrant and is currently being held for bail.
