Lunch and learn event invites community to explore local waterways

Residents are invited to tap into their curiosity and learn more about local rivers and streams during a relaxed Lunch Learn and Share event focused on community-based discovery and environmental awareness.

Titled Not All Scientists Wear Lab Coats but We Are All Born Citizen Scientists, the event is designed to bring people together to chat, share experiences and uncover the hidden stories of local waterways. No scientific background is required, with organizers emphasizing that a love of nature and observational curiosity are all that’s needed.

The Lunch Learn and Share takes place Feb. 10 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Royal Canadian Legion Branch 18, located at 52 Margaret Ave. in Wallaceburg. A weather backup date has been set for March 10.

Tickets are $15 and include a light lunch, door prizes and an interactive presentation aimed at sparking conversation and collective learning. Seating is limited, and advance registration is encouraged.

Organizers say the gathering is meant to create a ripple of learning and discovery within the community, highlighting how everyday observations can contribute to a deeper understanding of local ecosystems.

More information and registration details are available through the Citizen Science website.
