Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 33-year-old Chatham man has been charged after police responded to a reported family dispute.
On Feb. 7, 2026, at approximately 1:51 p.m., Chatham-Kent police were called to a residence on McNaughton Avenue East. Police learned the accused had attended the residence earlier in the day, acting erratically and making threats toward individuals inside the home.
Officers arrived and located the man inside the residence during a verbal altercation with the complainant. Police reminded him he was subject to court-ordered conditions prohibiting him from attending the residence or communicating with the complainant.
The accused had previously been released on Oct. 27, 2025, with conditions including no communication with specific individuals and not attending within 50 metres of certain locations. He was arrested and charged with two counts of failure to comply with an undertaking, then released with conditions and a court date of March 16, 2026.
