Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A Wheatley man has been arrested on an outstanding warrant in connection with a mischief investigation.
On March 2, 2025, Chatham-Kent police investigated a report of mischief at a residence on Erie Street North in Wheatley after damage and signs of forced entry were discovered. Surveillance footage later identified a 28-year-old male from Wheatley using force and a pry bar to enter the residence.
The accused was charged with mischief under $5,000 and later released with conditions and a court date of April 28, 2025. After failing to attend court, a warrant was issued.
On Feb. 7, 2026, Essex OPP located and arrested the accused on the strength of the warrant. He was returned to Chatham-Kent police and released with a scheduled court date of March 10, 2026.
