Man arrested on outstanding warrant in Buxton assault case

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A Raleigh Township man has been arrested on an outstanding warrant stemming from a 2024 assault investigation.

Chatham-Kent police were originally called on June 30, 2024, to a reported assault in North Buxton. Police determined a 24-year-old male from Tilbury had been exploring an abandoned residence when he was confronted by a 24-year-old male from Raleigh Township. The victim was forcibly removed from the property and physically assaulted, suffering injuries to his head, ribs and torso that required additional medical attention.

The accused was charged with assault causing bodily harm and later released with conditions and a court date of Oct. 21, 2024. After failing to attend court, a warrant was issued for his arrest.

On Feb. 7, 2026, the accused was arrested during a traffic stop at Bloomfield Road and Sixth Line in Chatham. He was taken to police headquarters and released with conditions and a new court date of March 16, 2026.
