Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 48-year-old Chatham woman is facing a charge after allegedly breaching a court-ordered release condition, according to the Chatham-Kent Police Service.
Police say that on Feb. 12, 2026, at 4:33 p.m., officers were notified by an RCMP detachment in Nova Scotia that a 41-year-old man had raised concerns about the woman.
An investigation determined that between Feb. 10 and 12, 2026, the accused repeatedly contacted or attempted to contact the man by phone and email, contrary to her court-ordered conditions prohibiting any form of communication.
Officers formed grounds to charge her with one count of failing to comply with a release order.
The woman was located on Taylor Avenue in Chatham, arrested and transported to police headquarters, where she remains in custody pending a bail hearing.
Police thanked the RCMP for their assistance.
