The Wallaceburg and District Museum is inviting the public to step back in time this Family Day with the Baldoon Wagon Run, a seated storytelling experience celebrating the town’s industrial heritage.
Held inside the museum’s Jeanne Gordon Hall, the event allows visitors to “travel” through Wallaceburg’s working past without leaving their seats. “Participants will enjoy engaging stories that highlight the industries and businesses that helped shape the community, all presented in a fun and accessible format for families and history lovers alike,” the museum said.
During the experience, the wagon will make stops at key points in Wallaceburg’s industrial history, including the Lumber and Staves, Empire Oil Refinery, Hawken Milling, the Glass Factory, Brass Factory, Mac Craft, Sugar Beet Factory, Libby’s Food Processing, Lee Machine Shop, Wallaceburg Bookbinding, and North American Plastics.
The event begins at 10 a.m. Tickets are $15 per person, with a discounted rate of $10 for museum members. They can be purchased in person at 505 King Street or by calling 519-627-8962.
The Baldoon Wagon Run serves as a fundraiser for the museum, supporting its mission to preserve and share local history for future generations.
The museum encourages attendees to “gather friends, reserve their seat, and enjoy a nostalgic and informative journey through Wallaceburg’s industrial past.” Additional information is available online at the museum’s Facebook page.
