A series of protests in Wallaceburg is continuing this month as residents and advocacy groups voice opposition to the provincial government and a proposed landfill project near Dresden.
An initial demonstration was held April 25 outside the constituency office of Steve Pinsonneault, drawing participants calling for action and policy changes.
Another protest is scheduled for May 30 at the same location.
Organizers with the Dresden CARED group say the demonstrations are focused on opposing the proposed landfill project and urging action from the provincial government, while encouraging community support.
The April 25 protest, promoted as part of a province-wide day of action, called on residents to rally under the message “Ontario deserves better,” with participants gathering from late morning into the early afternoon outside the Wallaceburg office.
