Man charged in historical intimate partner violence investigation

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Chatham-Kent police say a 37-year-old man from Chatham has been charged following a historical intimate partner violence investigation.

The arrest took place Feb. 14, 2026, at about 10:26 p.m. on Third Street in Chatham. Police allege the accused engaged in repeated unwanted communication, attended the victim’s residence uninvited, caused property damage, committed assaults, made threats and used objects as weapons over an extended period of time.

He is charged with criminal harassment, assault, assault with a weapon, mischief and uttering threats. The accused was later released with a court date of March 19, 2026.
